About Linda

Linda has been interested in art since she was very young and has loved to draw and paint from the time her parents gave her a painting set for her ninth birthday. She chose to attend the University of Illinois and majored in Art Education where she received a BFA degree.

Following graduation she taught watercolor classes for children and adults in public school and art association settings. She continues to produce her own work with a focus in watermedia, specifically transparent watercolor and fluid acrylics. She is inspired by nature in every season and is attracted to the the play of light on her subject matter. Her work is mostly traditional but she has branched out to some abstract and impressionistic painting, as well as mixed media.

Linda has had memberships with prestigious art associations across the Eastern Seaboard and in Canada, as well as upstate South Carolina where she is currently a member of Greenville Center for Creative Arts (GCCA). Throughout her career she has studied with other professional artists such as Judi Betts, Ron Lent, Tom Lynch and Carrie Burns Brown, as well as various other mentors who continue to influence her work today. Her pieces have been featured in over 20 juried and invitational exhibitions in New Jersey, Georgia, Toronto and South Carolina and she has received awards in 14 of those shows. She currently resides in Travelers Rest with her husband Kris and her Ragdoll cat Sasha.
